The Company’s employment strategy is based on local recruitment to the maximum extent possible and training. The DRC has a long tradition of mining, with significant expertise in mining and mineral technology. More than 90% of Anvil's workforce are Congolese nationals.

Anvil is setting up an extensive in-house training program to build a significant local skills base, suitable for long-term work in Anvil's operations, enabling employees to reach their potential and acquire valuable and transferable skills and experience that will stand employees in good stead for the future.

The training programs cover health, safety, plant operation, vehicle use, mechanics, electrical, administration, computer technology and a wide range of life skills.

Anvil’s local workforce is taking on more responsible and challenging roles as the workforce development takes shape. In the long-term, these skills may prove to be one of Anvil’s most important contributions to the region.
