Detailed environmental management programs have been incorporated into all aspects of Anvil’s activities. The Company’s goal is the implementation of international best practice based on World Bank guidelines, DRC Mining code regulations and global industry codes.
Not one significant environmental infraction or incident was reported during the year; a reflection of prevention strategies for work practices and ongoing employee and contractor training. Environmental management systems are monitored on an annual basis by the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager and an environmental team made up exclusively of local Congolese staff.
